Megan currently holds two Regional event race wins this year in her Meyer Truck Center/Weld Wheels dragster, and is the Central Region points leader. This will be Shayne Lawson’s first event of the year, but he is very confident that his dragster will have great performance this weekend.

Helping out the Randy Meyer Racing Team this weekend is local establishment, Wings To Go, and Top Glass – Taylor Optical Plastics. Wings To Go will be providing hospitality and food for the entire team and track operators this weekend. Top Glass, located in Grandview, Missouri, delivered high-quality windshields for each of their dragsters to protect the drivers and provide the best aerodynamic solutions.

The Top Alcohol Dragster category will get two qualifying sessions Friday evening, followed by three rounds of eliminations on Saturday. The Team will compete in four more Lucas Oil Regional meets this year, including Topeka, Kansas, Earlville, Iowa, Noble, Oklahoma and St. Louis, Missouri.
At the recent 50th Winternationals held at Queensland's Willowbank Raceway, Gary Phillips claimed enough points in his Lucas Oils Alcohol Funny Car to secure his 20th Australian Championship.

Gary also grabbed the #1 qualifying position in the first qualifying session with a 5.407 at an early shut off 260mph.

"We headed into the final event of the season leading a close battle in the Pro Alcohol standings where 4 of us could have claimed the championship. As it turned out, we were to face the 3rd in points in the first round, before the rain unfortunately ended the event", said Phillips.

"We came out swinging in the first qualifying run, knowing how important the bonus points were, and it worked in our favour. The data and incremental times actually indicated a 5.38 was the likely number to show on the scoreboard."

Gary was also competing in his Lucas Oils Studebaker Pro Slammer, where an electrical gremlin prevented the team from making the 8 car field.

"The 60ft and 330ft incremental times were extremely promising with indications of a pair of 5.76 passes, however, the ignition glitch was so bad that only a 5.94 and 5.95 were the result".

"We believe we have identified the issue now and are working to rectify it as we speak. The car has been running very strong since installing the new JRi Shocks last month and we can't wait to run the car again, and hopefully improve on our 3rd place finish nationally."

While Gary's 20th championship win was filled with celebration, there was a bittersweet feeling attached this year, as the Winternationals marked the final event with Lucas Oils as major partner with the team.

"It's been 20 wonderful years with the Lucas family. They truly are a part of our own family, and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity we were provided by Forrest, Charlotte & Morgan, as well as the entire staff at Lucas Oil Products both here in Australia and the USA. It is extremely sad for us to say goodbye to them."...
NORWALK, Ohio (June 20) -- By all accounts, reigning Super Gas world champion Mia Tedesco is having another banner season. She's ranked second in the North Central region and eighth nationally in her CARS Vehicle Service Contracts/Schepel Motors/NGK/Lucas Oil Top Alcohol Dragster. She's also a lofty fourth in her CARS Vehicle Service Contracts/VP Racing Fuels Super Gas Chevrolet Cavalier in the Division 3 standings.

The only thing missing on her 2017 resume is a victory, something she'd love to change this weekend with two chances to win at the 11th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals.

"We've been racing long enough to know that some weekends, some years, everything seems to just fall into place and go your way," Tedesco said. "Other times it's a struggle for everything. Then you have seasons like this year where you are running really well but the wins aren't happening for whatever reason.

"All we do, all you can do, is keep racing. These things work out. We're always ready to win and we come to every race with all the pieces we need to win, we're just waiting for it to happen this year. I really don't spend a lot of time worrying about that stuff."

Norwalk would be the perfect place for Tedesco to visit the winner's circle again. She won here as recently as 2015 in Top Alcohol Dragster (in rain delayed action from the Chicago regional event) and Summit Motorsports Park is the closest national track to her native Pittsburgh.

"That win here was cool because it happened on July 4th and the Baders (track owners) always put on that huge fireworks display so it was a very memorable weekend," Tedesco said. "And definitely having this track so close to...
