So with 1 month untill the 2010 March Meet and an expected 40 plus fuel funny car count to show up,...the ol mighty
wigs from the safe haven of Glendora has clobberd the Nostalgia top fuel
and Nostalgia Funny cars with more rules,..more parts,..and money that might
not be available to some teams, and although a couple of the rules wont go into effect until August,..it is just sickening that these guys who have jumped
all the ropes, and have bent over to make this racing a part of their hobby and have fun doing it with the rules that already where established
NHblah blah steps further into the Nostalgia scene with more,.more,..more..

Here are most of the new rules

OEM manufacturers Cast blower cases only,..billit cases PROHIBITED
    Foam poured impact seat inserts,..
operatinal Nhblah blah accepted safty devise mandatory kill
    fire proof Protective brakeline coverings
Belly pans,. diaper still mandatory too.,
rear Spill plate hieghts from the ground TBA and also
cannot extend forward of lower rear window corner, or protude backwards of rear deck lid.
No side windows, except vent window 12 inches..
a maximum injector size inlet opening 45sq inch.(butterfly opening) and
all injector hats must be accepted by Nhblah blah prior to any event
all flexible pressure lines,. oil or fuel to be tested and tagged
TBA restricted spacer hieght between hat and blower

There is a little more but this is the majority for the Floppers

    here is the link.

While I agree,.. for Safty,...I have no more to say,..but be safe
    and have fun racing.

THey should be glad that NHRA hasnt come down on them about their "nostalgia" bodies. IMHO, a lot of those bodies dont look too nostalgic to me. Some of the Firebird/TA bodies look more like the modern cars in terms of their greenhouse roof/pillars and some of the aerodynamic flaring. None of the bodies back in the day had any of that stuff. If they truly wanted to maintain that nostalgic look, they should made the molds closer to the bodyline/roof lines of those original bodies.

    Again just my opinion

IHRA, where u r appreciated? Before you turn the lights out tonight - have someone read you the bed time story about all the racers that would post here and tell us all how wonderful it was to race with the IHRA in TA/FC. A word of caution.... the story doesn't have a happy ending.

    Barry

the funnies at IHRA had another venue to go 2 as of NHRA, so they did not totally loose, the A-fuelers along with the TAD's only had 1 playing field NHRA, a little different pot to stir:D
don't forget the NHRA pro stock truck boys:eek:

I was referencing the fact that a long time ago, we were all told how great IHRA.... never mind. It's real simple. If you have such animosity for NHRA you should race somewhere else or start your own sanctioning body. Just think - you could have lions and tigers bring the cars to the staging lanes. OH WAIT! I think I read where IHRA already has that in the planing stages. I think it's like a circus and a drag race in one. Something for everyone. Never mind safety. Pass the popcorn.

I always go to the track to race - not so much to "feel the love". If you do get your own track try this - instead of the National Anthem you could play Barry White songs. OH WAIT! I think I read where IHRA has that in the planing stages.
