This is a WAG ....but..... Summers Bros.?
Looks like the flanges and axle plates are similar to one that I have.

    Dave,

I don't think Summers Bros. actually made a complete floater assembly. I could be wrong though?

Did SPE make a floater? or SAE?

This assembly is very old. The car is from the early 80's. I think Jackie won the Midwest Circuit in 1985 with this car.

I hope he will stop by and tell us....Paging Jackie Stidham!!!

    Thanks

I believe the floater is a later SPE, but I think they bought the floater business from Summers. Perhaps someone replaced only the hubs, but kept the drive plates and spindles from Summers.

Call me and I'll hook you up with the people from SPE.

I think these are the same floaters Plueger runs on his nost. F/C.

They may not have made the housing proper but they did make everything else at one time. Heck, give them a call if you are looking for a part.

SPE did make floaters, They look like that but "black" and have a 3 bolt end cap. I have pictures at the shop and will look and see what I can find for you.
SPE is also "out of business"!
Summers is still around, but don't know if it's the same company. They do have a website up.

    thanks guys...

I should have gotten a complete assembly years ago.

These are still in great shape and have never failed in the years we have had the car. But, with folks moving up in years many of these craftsman are going to retire or leave us and much of the good old used stuff is going to be tough to maintain.

Or, it's time for a cnc and just start making it.

    floaters

they are almost a dead ringer for the floaters in my fc that strange made. i cant seem to upload pictures here, or find anybody to help me do it, so send me your email address, and i can send u picts of mine. by the way, i rebuilt the whole mess years ago, and strange had all the bearings and races, seals on the shelf for a very reasonable price. nitrobandit1@yahoo.com
