Nigel here in the States the majority of the fast door cars run converters and we never look back. The converter is far more consistent than a clutch and never have to do that clutch maintenance between rounds. Just as soon as you think you have a clutch tuneup you have to buy more discs and find out they are not the same as as the last ones you bought from the same supplier so the tuneup changes. Eighty percent of our car work was on the clutch. The only person that will tell you to switch to a clutch is somebody that is NOT running a converter. These days with the Chance and Coan converters you can outrun a clutch. Just look at the PDRA ProXtreme cars running in the 3.50's and greater than 210 mph in the 1/8 and they are all converter cars. Look at Mike Janis in NHRA Legal Promod and how many wins he has and he is a converter car.

i know the ''new'' best converter merry go round can be very expensive but you cant argue with the awesome performance that the converter cars have.one point with the ride the dot timing we have now you dont have to murder the clutch to get the car down the track so between round clutch maintenance other than cooling is about zero
