    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    RANDY MEYER SATURDAY PIT-NOTE

October 1, 2005 (Joliet, IL) – NHRA Division 5 Top Alcohol Champion and Jeg’s AllStars participant, Randy Meyer is racing strong heading into Sunday’s final eliminations. Qualified number 3, Meyer also raced in the Jeg’s AllStars race on Saturday.

During the Jeg’s AllStars, Meyer first won round one in a battle over Ed Schmeckle. Meyer ran an ET of 5.303, 263.82 MPH for the win over Schmieckle’s 7.249, 135.95 MPH. Despite running well in round one of the Jeg’s AllStars, Meyer encountered minor mechanical difficulties and did not advance past round two.

“Unfortunately, we dropped a cylinder during round two of the AllStars race. Things felt good up to that point, but we have worked out the bugs and we feel comfortable heading into the race on Sunday,” said Meyer. “The air should be good tomorrow and that will be great for the A-fuel cars.”

Meyer will race Richard Putz in round one on Sunday at the Ameriquest Mortgage NHRA Nationals at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. Meyer is at the top of the NHRA Division 5 standings. Randy Meyer and the entire Randy Meyer Racing team would like to acknowledge Miller Industries Towing Equipment, Meyer Truck Center, Tow Rax, Valvoline, ARP, Autolite, Fram, Goodyear, Aeroquip, Bar’s Leaks Additiver, Taylor Cable, Manley, BAE, Hogans, Moroso, Moritz Machine, and 888-CARWRECK for all their continued support.
