DMPE is right... A lot of boost at a very high temp will definitely hurt performance. A good blower should be less than 115 deg or so. Depending on where you measure the temp.

Also the temps depend on how New the stripes are, if you use Prizm, and what overdrive you use. You might see 115 F at 14.5% OD at the start but you sure not going to see that low of a temperature at 26% at the end of a run unless your stripes are really worn

Well I've run a new SSI F4 and a new Hammer blower both at over 30% and still keep the temps below 120deg. Spray bar works

My tuner , Mike Kopchick, tells me that if I move the probe to the front of the intake the temp will go up approx 8 to 10 deg I plan on moving it and comparing the numbers I get. I'll post the results.

    Barnyard Logic time..........
    1. pull out main jet, look in hole to check if there is another jet behind (seen it happen too many times)
    2. Put the old clunk back on to see if it still does what it used to do.

Neither of these cost anything !

That can happen in the heat of battle. I have a mark on the shaft of my jet tool that matches up with the surface of the BV if all is good and if two jets it is not all the way in.

I know of a VERY experienced NHRA national champion T/AD and TA/FC racer that was fooled by the two pill thing for three consecutive races some 15 years ago.

    That's a good idea, Mike.

Thats kinda what I assumed(alky for fuel) . What has me scratching my head is the front four pistons being black. normally if I remember right alky really doesn't color things up like gasoline (black from being too fat). Only black I saw on alky was from oil.
