I agree, if it was running lean because of the pump you would have many indications of that. As said I would look for an electrical problem.
What plug gap are you using? When did it start quitting 30’ out? Did that happen when you swapped blowers or did it run ok for some time?
Weight and amount of oil. Wet sump is lighter and simpler but less oil. Dry sump is more complicated, heavier, but more oil.
The other critical item when using a crank trigger is rotor phasing. If it is out by too many degrees the motor will not start.
