I've been using the 8973 for 3 years and I have had no problems with it.
If both of your gauges go to 100, then to get 70% leak, your second gauge should read 30.
I run one in my car.Aires new century block.1471 superman around 2500 hp. never had a problem.
I screwed up you are right
The 2 big lock nuts on the left side of the trans is the band ajustment.
I put 1 quart in the third gear section and fill the trans to the bottom of the threads. Also put 1 pint in the reverser.
I perfer the band over electric clutches.
The Bruno has an alr operated band that clamps around the drum. The band is ajustable and if you need to replace it, it uses a turbo 400 rear band.
