valve lash

    i bought a used kb olds with big chief heads and havent had any luck from the cam manufacturer on valve lash any suggestions where to start it is a roller cam and blown any help would be great thanx greg

    Who is the maker of the cam? Certain companies set theirs to general ranges.
    And if you don't know that, then PRM, spring pressure closed and open, general valve weight.

    normal lash is .026 on both intake and exhaust, but some Erson cams ask for 30.

    That's what we run hot but set it at .014" cold to get that. Solid KB-Olds with solid AJPE Billet heads, Crane cam.

    We ran a Donovan BBC with Big Chiefs , Lunati cam , big lift , T&D valve gear. We set 14 cold 25 hot.

    I only have one feeler guage in my box. Intake @ .016, exhaust @ .016, spark plugs @ .016. Lol

    .014 to .016 should get you close. Can you get the cam numbers off the cam?
