Well the act worked. Admit it or not, there were AF/Ds out there that had ran 30's with less than 85% in the tank. Since what they call pure, out of the drum nitro is only 97 to 98 % pure (stadardized to 60 degrees Faranheit), this is only a 1 to 2 % cut. That's B.S.

    Count me gone.

The 30's were run with under 95%, not 85% as my stupid computer tried to say.

Marty I was told that at three or four events this year they tested every Afuel car and charted them. and none of the cars that had less than 99% qualified for those races.

Promised I wouldn't piss his af/d buddies off at him Dean. He'd deny telling me anyway.
That's what happens when you only test 10% of the runs.

I don't know VP's rating but Pro Nitro is supposed to be 99.9 according to their reps.
The NHRA tests I have show percentages of 99.8% of the cars tested and they are at NHRA events meaning they had to run VP, so I am guessing their percentage is also over 99.5 uncut

Not that I am disagreeing with you on how much time it will take for them to get back, but I do believe is will be a much longer process then what you think it will be.

Dean I hope you are not right, and I hope my source did not have the info on other possible changes.

(BTW Marty, did you think about the email I sent you. I have a couple great shots.)

I don't know who was running less than straight out of the drum. But it will make a huge difference. When the people you spoke of ran less than 95% at 30's ,what was everybody else running? What was the elevation, temp&humidity? Was it national or divesional races? There are several situations that would cause a person to run at less than out of the drum.Like real good air and a bad track.Bottom line is less nitro is the same as turning the screw slower you will slow down.

What all due respect to all the Blown dragsters, I think if you want to run a blown car, buy a funny car, "the times they are a changin'" AFuel is where it's going, Just ask Jay Payne... He saw the writing on the wall 2 years ago.

If I wanted a funny car I would have done it from the begining. So put that where the light doesn't shine. Dave

    Dave,

Do you want me to put your Blown Dragster "where the sun don't shine"? My garage is kinda full right now, but if you give me some time I will sell some of my cars so it will fit.
