Any Thoughts on MGP, or GRP, or BME ?
Blown methanol/nitro deal obviously. 1.156" pin.
R&R rods have never failed us and don’t have to be retorque between rounds like GRP rods
Mgp was always my #1. Never a failure in 8 years.
R&R was second. But the newer rod bolt lets you go a lot more rounds of racing before changing them out. So I chose those this time around.
And grp you couldn't give me to run. Done tore up 2 engines with those. So that's not even a choice.
Any thoughts on the BME forged rods?
Never used them and never will
Any particular reason why?......
BME have been good to me but im only running high 6's
Haven't heard of GRP's needing retorqued between rounds. At least in Hemi's running mid to upper 6's.
First choice would be R&R or CP rods.
We run big pin GRP 3500 Pro Series in our N/FC,at 96 plus on the nitro percentage and in 57 runs (changing them out at 20 laps) have not had any failure whatsoever. This is our third season,so we are still rookies I guess.Booked in races, some Heritage Series races, the heads, clutch and pan stay on the engine at the track until we get home.Change the oil, check valve lash and tighten the clutch is our MO.The torque on the rods is still right on after a race weekend. This is a 5.90 / 3.80 car btw.
Your results may vary.
