Wilson Racing looking to celebrate the 4th early!

Winfield, Mo., This weekend's NHRA /Lucas Oil Division 3 Drag Racing Series event at the Mid-Michigan Motorplex in Stanton, Michigan July 1st-3rd is in the next stop for the TORCO Race Fuels / Wilson Racing Team for 2005.

Wilson Racing Qualified 16th and defeated the # 1 Qualifier in the 1st round several weeks ago in Chicago but hopes to avoid coming from behind this weekend. "We need to be more consistent and qualify in the top half of the field this weekend. It's a lot of pressure on the entire team when we are down to the final qualifying session and not qualified, not to mention the added pressure of running the number 1 qualifier 1st round. Our goal this weekend is no different from what it has always been, to make the top half of the field on our 1st run, then improve from there" stated Wilson.

The Torco Race Fuels / Wilson Racing Team is looking to get back on track after several weeks off. "We have made a few changes after hours of reviewing computer and video data." stated Wilson. "Every event is different from the track conditions to weather, but when the you have the same problems regardless then it is time for a change. We believe we are going the right direction, not only for this weekend but for the remainder of the season. We should find out this weekend if the changes will work and I have said for years that if your not going forward, then you are going backward".

"Our entire team has worked together and discussed what changes needed to be made, because we share our success as a team as well as endure the pain of losing as a team." stated Wilson.
