Thacker Looking for Win in Brainerd

The Top Alcohol Dragster driven by Marty Thacker will head to Brainerd, Minnesota this weekend to participate in the Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway. The Rapid Transit Race Team is coming off a solid showing at the Edgewater Divisional event this past weekend where they earned the number one qualifying spot and a runner-up finish in the event.

Thacker, the 2005 Jeg’s All-Star representative for Division 3, is looking forward to the weekend. “Racing at Brainerd is always fun. There's a great racetrack, good food, enthusiastic fans and the beautiful countryside. The team is excited for the event. Even though we have experienced a few parts failures this year, we feel like we are beginning to understand our new Boninfante clutch. We believe the TORCO Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Dragster is on the verge of great performances. The weather forecast is calling for A-Fuel domination this weekend, but we feel like we can give them something to worry about. One thing you can count on is that the Rapid Transit crew is a "never say die" kind of bunch."

Thacker moved up to second in the Division 3 points last weekend and is only 2 rounds out of first place. He is currently on the verge of breaking into the top 10 in the National standings. This could prove to be a very pivotal race for the TORCO Racing Fuels sponsored dragster.

Qualifying in Brainerd will begin on Friday with runs at 1:30 and 4:30 PM. On Saturday the Top Alcohol classes will get one more qualifying shot at 11:00 AM. First round of eliminations will follow at 4:00 PM on Saturday.
