kb block main bearing clearance?

    hi, i am new to this site. i am building a kb hemi for my altered. injected alcohol,std.stroke, new eagle crank. need to know what clearance range for the main bearings? thank you, steve.

    clearance

    hey steve, look around min .003 to .003.5 for injection. also make sure you have a good pump with great pressure. but also try punching up bearing clearances on the search section for more input. hope that helps. use the search forum for more infor.

    PS forgot to factor in what trans will you be using? some guys like to have the rear main a little larger when they run a std trans. not sure if thats just for blown use or not.

    thank you, as of now i have .0015. i have an aviaid belt drive wet sump 2 stage pump. how should i increase clearance? different bearings, polish crank?

    .0015 is not enough, I would look for .001 over bearings or extra clearance bearings, whatever you call them. That would get you around .0025 which is still tight in my opinion but I know people run them like that. The problem with polishing a crank to get a little more clearance is that its next to impossible to keep the journal from hourglassing.

    I wouldnt run less than .004 with an aluminum block
