This is not my car but a friend's. The chassis is a no name chassis and older. Runs a big block on alcohol. After his burn out, the front tires start shaking. Same on the big end when he lifts off the gas. Any ideas?

There are tens of reasons it does or doesn't.
One of them is how the contact patch of the tire lines up with the kingpin.
If the contact patch of the tire is outside of where the kingpin would reach the ground if long enough, It can contribute to these shakes.
    Adding air pressure helps.

#1 - 96% of the time it's tire pressure, people seem to think they are go to the store so they know cars like 36 lbs. Ahh, it's a RACE tire that needs to stay on the safety bead and has soft sidewalls ! Your race tire dealer will tell you 50 PSI. !
#2 - All the rod ends are dead ! Take bolts out, see if the ball spins freely. If it does, s --t can it ! Balls should have resistance !
#3 - Front end alignment : do NOT listen to your shop "PRO" ! Most F/C's are built with spindle offset. If you are measuring CL to CL of tire with a 2" offset front end, the line you've drawn to CL of the direction of car is crooked ! Put the dumb end of the tape 1" back onto fat of tire while squating in front or back of tire CL to get your 3/16" toe in. Think of a dry wall square line, not one with a crooked top. The weight throws itself forward when lifting throttle making the toe in go out and vise versa meaning if all above is good, and it still does it add another 1/16" toe in, if that doesn't do it, you've got road race tires that need to go in the trash!
