Etterman Racing Excited After Final Round Showing at No Problem Raceway

Belle Rose, LA – Heading into their first race weekend, the Etterman Racing Team felt very optimistic about their chances at a good showing, but what resulted could not have been scripted better.
The team’s six-month off-season came to a close this past weekend, with the running of the Division 4 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Opener at No Problem Raceway Park in Belle Rose, Louisiana. Here in Belle Rose, Jonathan Johnson, Driver, made his debut with the seasoned Etterman Racing Team.

George Etterman, Owner, states, “We were all a little nervous going into the Thursday test session. Jonathan had not driven this car and, to be honest, after the parts attrition that plagued us last year, we wanted to see if the changes we made were indeed right. We obviously made the right call with the engine, and Jonathan did everything we asked him in the seat. I am proud of him; we all are!”

“From my standpoint this weekend was unbelievable,” Jonathan proclaims. “My expectations were to go out, try and qualify well, and hopefully win a round. We also wanted to get as much track time as we could and did indeed with going all the way to the final round. This also gave us plenty of time to work together and begin to adjust as a team. The collaboration between owner, driver, and crew is very important in a racing team, and I feel like we accomplished that very well. We had some exciting moments, including a runner-up finish and a number two qualifying position. These events are very thrilling and rewarding to me, especially this being our first event together,” Johnson concludes.

The team feels pleased to give such great results early in the season for both the returning sponsors and long time supporters of Etterman Racing, as well as the new marketing partners. They all welcomed Jonathan with open arms, knowing that there would be a learning curve, and this helped his confidence level in the car tremendously that so many are behind him.

“Jonathan is so excited to be working with David [Scheelk] and George, as well as the rest of the crew,” says Katie Ward, Marketing & Graphics. “The team did great and really looks forward to Memphis, as well as the rest of the year. Keep an eye out for Etterman Racing, because now that we’ve got one race in us, we’re ready to go!” Ward continues.
