Brand new BBC build,540 billet solid block/soild AJ heads 11.5 compression.
1471 HH XR1 blower sitting on a miersch intake manifold.
BOHR/Hammer GEN 4 hat with helical spray bar and hammer spacer.
Rage fuel pump with sizer loop, idle check at 10 PSI and port check at 16 PSI.

My problem is with #1 and #2 getting two much fuel at idle , with 2 being the worst spewing raw fuel out the pipe. The further you go back the hotter the egts get with 7&8 being the hottest.
I’ve set the BV to 85% leakage and about 1.1 gallon a minute and number 1 barley stays lit maybe about 225 deg but number 2 will start shooting raw fuel and goes out.
If I lean the BV enough it will clear up but then 7/8 start idling hot in the 750-800 range with the middle cylinders in the low 500’s.

is this a normal condition with this type of application?
The blower has setback rotors but not on a setback plate.
I didn’t have this problem on my last BBC with the same blower and intake but I’m wondering if this is caused by the spray bar in the new hat.

Forgot to mention using a K style BV, blades set at .009.

Yes seems normal to me and I have a set back plate. The blower forces the fuel to the front. I find as long as you can maintain 350ish at idle with correct port nozzle it will pick up and be evenish with the rest on the run. That s all that really matters after all.

I can keep #1 in the low 300's without leaning on the BV too much, flow meter at .9-1 gpm.
#2 seems to be the biggest problem, it is low 200's if it stays lit and one flat richer on the BV its back to raw fuel but if i lean it any more those back cylinders start climbing higher than i would like to see them.

All you can do is balance the best you can and or get a setback plate. What does it do on a run?

Had the same issue on our 532 we added dribbler nozzles in the back 4 clys off the hat port block and now all 8 are real close to each other. And then tune the hi side with the port nozzles. Them blowers tend to screw all the fuel on the front holes at idle and push it to the back 4 holes at wot.

R U sure the port nozzles are not putting in any fuel in the cylinders?

Yes, verified all port lines were dry.
