Taylor Ready to Rock in 2006

ANAHEIM, CA —Dennis Taylor is encouraged, following a successful pre-season test with his Plumbing Concepts Top Alcohol Funny Car. His enthusiasm is driven by a whole new engine combination for 2006. During the short off-season, Dennis switched to engine components produced by the highly respected, multi-championship winning crew chief, Alan Johnson. This association is a natural one; as Taylor’s own crew chief, Ora Vasquez, has been a friend of the Johnson family’s all the way back to their start in drag racing.

Taylor noted, “Testing this new combination in Phoenix had its ups and downs, but overall, we learned a great deal about it. Our car was quicker in the first 60 feet than it’d ever been. The challenge comes in balancing that additional low-end power and keeping it from spinning the tires down track.”

All indications lead to Taylor reaching the next level. Aside from two consecutive Top-10 national points finishes, Dennis still missed the Division 7 championship by very narrow margins. Alan Johnson would enjoy seeing that change this year, as would Dennis and his entire crew. Taylor is once again pleased to be associated with Plumbing Concepts.
