Taylor Signs Lucas to Start Lucas Oil Series

ANAHEIM, CA —Dennis Taylor emerged from NHRA’s Pomona season-opener and signed Lucas Oil Products in support of his 2006 championship quest. Coming off back-to-back Top-10 rankings in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series national points standings, Taylor noted the importance of this new marketing partnership. “By having Lucas Oil Products involved with our Plumbing Concepts Top Alcohol Funny Car, both sides will benefit greatly. We’re both based in Southern California, so that makes it easier to work together. Team Taylor has its sights on Firebird Raceway in Chandler, Arizona, for the 2006 season kick-off of the NHRA Division 7 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. Taylor comes to the desert as the defending event champion, along with having scored a runner-up finish in 2004. Prior to qualifying, Dennis will call on his years of experience at Firebird to continue testing his new Alan Johnson engine components. Ora Vasquez, Taylor’s Crew Chief noted, “Past performances don’t count for much here. The desert Southwest can always throw us a curveball with weather and track conditions, so we have to keep that in mind. Heavy rain is forecasted for Southern California at the beginning of the week, so that weather system could follow us all the way to the Phoenix area.” Whatever the conditions, Dennis Taylor and the entire Plumbing Concepts crew will certainly be ready for any and all challenges put before them.
