What would be a safe compression for a Blown BBC 14-71 hh dart heads Rodeck solid block motor? What would be the most compression you would want to run?

For what its worth, back when I was running Top Dragster..10.8 could run it like a bracket car 11.2 to 11.4 made good power w/reliability. In my final year I turned it up to 12.2, went our fastest (6.14) but it was a bomb if you missed the tune-up, which I did quite often as I ran w/o computer! Keep it in the lower 11's and you will be happy, Tim

I ran between 10.5 and 11 to 1 ( ~472" BBC and 441" Rodeck many years ago). We had smaller (and inferior) blowers compared to today, but the flame travel on the top of the piston seemed to be good in that range. Looking back I probably could have increased the compression (11.25?) and decreased the advance on the mag.

My 496 brody headed bbc 14 HH 50% over 9500rpm. 11:1 that area seems to work well give it lots of fuel like they said.
