Bakersfield LODRS event rescheduled

Due to delays in the re-paving process at Auto Club Famoso Raceway, the Lucas Oil Drag Series event originally scheduled for May 19-21 has been rescheduled to August 25-26. The event will feature a unique format in that Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car will get three qualifying passes on Friday at 3, 6, and 9PM and run eliminations on Saturday evening beginning at 5PM. All other categories will receive two runs on Friday beginning at 10AM, one Saturday morning, with eliminations beginning at 2PM. The track will host a test and tune on Thursday, August 24 from 3-9PM.

Thanks for the heads up on the rescheduling. I know theres nothing you can do with mother nature and delays. It ought to be an interesting show for the fans with the alky cars running at night, especially them fuel burners.

 

It is me Dave. Things are just peachy down here as you can tell. How's the rain?

 

This is good.. Mike, make em all like the D-6 races. This "new" unique format.

Hi Jeff, over the years we have gone to D-6 events at Medford, Woodburn, With my cars. I have been upto Mission D-6 with Miner Bros. when I was a helper with them. This format is really good, it get you into a Racing rhythm right out of the gate, you know at the end of the day who you race tomorrow for the $$$, and you get to race in conditions similar to what you qualified in. And if you dont lolly gag getting home, you can work a normal day on monday. My 2cents, its a better way to Race for the way alcohol guys race. And the promoters can hammer the crowd with 2 nights of great racing.

I hope they promote this race. I'm looking forward to this format. To bad its not until Aug.
I guess I'll have to unload the car polish the wheels or something???

We can only hope that Fontana makes their date.

Attention Lucas Oil Racers – Race date June 22-25, 2006: All racers will enter the facility at Gate 6. From the 10 Freeway, take Cherry Avenue North to San Bernardino Rd. Turn Left and go 1.4 miles. Turn right into Gate 6 just past the railroad tracks.
