So about 1700hp is my target with a blown 540 BBC. I want to use a wet sump with a titan pro pump. Can you guys throw me some oil pan suggestions and pics if possible. Also capacity will help in trying to figure this out.

I run a 540 BBC with an external wet sump. I got an Olson sump and am really happy with it. No more losing oil pressure down track and I even reduced the amount of oil that I put in.

I ran a similar combo and used a pan that held 14 quarts and used a moroso billet pump and a accumulator with no bearing issues. However, the oil pressure would fall to around 40 psi at the chute pull. Not ideal but it worked. I’d stay away from the g rotor style pump and keep the pick-up 3/8-1/2 from the bottom. Bill Miller has a cool video on the testing of the two style pumps.

Call Justin at Shortys Fabrication. He was great to work with. Tell him Ray Stringer sent you.
I run a 9 qt pan and an 1 1/2 qt accumulator as well. Titan Pro pump. BBC on 89% nitro and no bearing issues. The pressure does drop some under the parachutes but i believe the accumulator is what keeps the bearings safe. My pump clearance is just under 1/2" at the rear of the pan. Justin worked really close with me to make sure we got the right clearance considering the taper of the pan.
We run 11 qts in the motor.
