Norwalk, Ohio - At this past weekend's Lucas Oil regional event branded as the "Cavalcade of Stars" presented by Budweiser, Duane Shields faced a much different Norwalk track than he did at the national event the week prior. "The traction was still good but we got behind the power curve. It was cooler and it took more power last week and less power this week to get down the track" Duane said.

Duane qualified 7th with a 5.27 at 276 MPH in the final session. "It was a brutal group of cars. The team that won last week didn't even qualify this weekend so it was a difficult race to qualify at" Duane added.

In round one, Duane faced Julie Nataas. As the lights came down on the tree, Duane lost traction and had to abort the run. Nataas, was on a clean run and took the win with a 5.28. "We made a nice run on the third qualifier. We should have left the car alone and not have changed the tune-up. We'll leave this one right where it is and move on" Duane said regrettably.

The team will now take a short summer break before returning to the track in Atco, NJ, Aug. 6-8. Duane would like to thank Muscle Milk, NGK Spark Plugs, GRP Connecting Rods, Clean Boost, SRI, and Brad Anderson Enterprises for their support of Duane Shields Racing.
