Totally new to this guys, please excuse my ignorance. Long story short , I bought a old ts car from a guy that knew nothing about it and frankly neither do I. The owner was very ill so, looking him up was not possible. Anyway, it did come with some paperwork and after doing lots of re-search heres what I know I have so far... 526 kb hemi, hh 14-71, 14.6 overdrive, buzzard catcher, 12:1 compression, enderle 110 (17.2 gpm) , port and hat nozzles. Looks to be a very serious set-up. As I was doing a leak test I noticed all the spark plugs have the sealing washers removed? I never had a hemi before is this normal? Thanks in advance - Dustin

Yes, you need the motor sealed. Put washer in.

Honestly I've seen it both ways. I've never run the plug gaskets - was told they weren't needed by an old racer when I was a kid. I always figured the plug tubes served the same purpose as a gasket washer.

Cut the gaskets off; Cut The Gaskets Off... the plugs seal perfectly on the spark plug tubes. If you leave the gaskets on it will destroy the bottom of the tube. Some guys cut out the bottom of the tube to be able to remove the valve cover w/o removing the spark plugs.....why do you not want to look at the plugs after a run??? I have Never run the gasket on a plug and I have made many many very fast runs with no issue in that area.
