"Saddle"?

    Excuse my ignorance, but exactly what is a "saddle"? I pretty sure it's some kind of main cap/block repair, but not clear on exactly what.

    Don't be afraid of a saddle or 2 , when done correctly they are good to go for a long time .

    Nothing wrong with saddles. If the block was machined correctly for saddles, they are just as strong and accurate as not having them. All the top fuel teams use them.
    I can't say the name, but I was told their TAFC fastest time had a block with saddles in all the mains.
