Would be a handy tool if it works with a 44.

The buzzer is loud as hell when you get it at the right spot. I have a few more issues of my own to work through to give a good report. Please give me a few days and I will let you know.

I make the Xtreme ProMag Timer. We are sprint Car guys. I made it to work with the 12 series mags, however the same coil and magnets are used in the 44 series mags. I just changed the software to work better. before this change the timing spot was very hard to find. Give me a call any time. 319-377-1129 Tom Maring

I have never needed anything but an eyeball and timing light. What would be the advantage of using a buzz box over a timing light. It would seem to me that you still have to use the timing light after the buss box so what is the point of adding an extra step.

    Does
Does the buzz box you make work when you turn the motor over with a breakover bar?

This how to use a Xtreme ProMag Timer.
How to Use your Xtreme ProMag Timer

Setting timing using a MSD 12LT Pro-Mag Magneto

    1. Set your crankshaft to the desired timing mark and on the compression stroke, 36 degrees as an example. Set the Magneto rotor to point to the number one cylinder.

    2. Loosen the band clamp and find an area that is not affected by the magnets in the ProMag Magneto.

    3. Plug the Xtreme ProMag Timer in to the Magneto and push the Start Button

    4. Turn magneto body to the Right (CCW) slowly in one fluid motion until you hear the Xtreme ProMag Timer chirp.

    5. Now turn Magneto body slowly in one fluid motion to the Left (CW) till you hear the Xtreme ProMag Timer chirp.

    6. Turn the Magneto body Right (CCW) until a steady Wail is heard Lock the Magneto body at this spot.

Your engine is now ready to start. Warm engine up and check timing with a normal timing light.

Where is the best place to phase the mag ? Do you want it between the poles as its coming up on the magnets or at the very top of the magnet

While the mags body is turning CW and you just feel the Magnets pushing back, this is when you would push the start button. Then turn the body CCW until you hear a beep. Then turn the Mags body CW until you hear a beep. Now turn the Mags body CCW until you hear a steady beep this wear you lock the Mags body by tighten the band clamp.
