By the lack of response I assume that most of you are running gear drives?

Is there a reason you are looking at going belt drive? You don't have to worry about belt breakage with a gear drive. One belt break and your engine would be junk, pistons hitting valves, etc. At one time I would never ever consider running a belt drive due mostly to the extra strain exerted on things with the increased cylinder pressure, but I feel conflicted after looking at some of the newer small cubic inch dual over head cam stuff, majority are belt drive and are producing some pretty good power levels. Some are even running compound turbo charging. I don't have any info as to how often they cycle out their camshaft belts, but they seem to be working and lasting. One of the pluses of running a belt drive is that it adsorbs some of the harmonics that the lower end exerts on the top end. I do know that some of the Pro charger guys run belt drives also. At the end of the day I personally would probably stay with the gear drive setup because of its durability.
