The car that I have just purchased has the racepak oil pressure sensor threaded directly into the oil pan. Is this the best place for it? If not where does it need to be?

No I believe that's a oil temp sensor. What would it measure in the oil pan? It needs to be at the back of the cam tunnel on a hemi. Same as a Chevy.

Ok. I did not think it was in the correct place. I am going to ask a dumb question. Could it be mounted in the oil pump? There looks like a plug in the pump. Thanks.

The pump pressure is not as important as the pressure reading on top of the back of the block which is normally the feed down to the main and rod bearings. Also if you mount it on to the pump you will see lots of pressure pulses that will make the graph look real bad and hard to read.

It is a 521 BAE hemi, w/ wet sump. I will have to get the number off of the pump.

Then being that motor it needs to go on top on the back behind the intake manifold.

I am assuming the engine will have to be taken out of the car to do this. I do not suppose there are any photos anywhere of where this needs to be are there. I hate to sound dumb but this is my first blown combo. I have been running nitrous promods for the last eleven years.

Same spot as a Chevy. Where the dist would Be there is a aluminum plug. Pull it out tap it and put the sensor in it. By the way welcome to the club

Thanks. I will be honest. I am lost on the tuning. I would have assumed the sensor would have been in the correct place as this engine has been in this car.
I am pretty sure I should still have the fuel pump flowed also.

Why don't you post on a new thread and tell everyone what you have. As far as pump. You should probally send the whole system in. Never assume anything. Plenty of horror stories on here about assumming....

There is a tightening bolt running through the middle of the plug. I do not think I can tap into that. I tried to post a picture but could not.
