RJ as "the place to go?"

The way I see it, in my humble but outspoken way of looking at the big picture (and not really giving a crap about what someone might think about my comments), Racing junk has nothing to offer as compared to ITA. Maybe it might be cheaper to list a $2.00 part or a $10,000 part or even a $22,500 part but maybe you might be scammed into buying a part that either does not exist or the seller does not even own or have the part. Who are you going to ask about references on any particular seller on RJ??
Let me see here, if I am looking to buy a $5,000 motor block or blower or whatever from someone on RJ or eBay OR would I rather buy that same item on ITA from someone I can check out in "real time" transactions? If $5 makes a seller not want to list his or her item for sale, then what is he selling anyways? Is it not worth $5. Hell, put that part in a garage sell for $5 and hope for the best. At least the hand written note left taped to the garage sale item was free and they saved $5.00.
    Really?

    I disagree...

I think the site may fall off with the additional $5 fee. I think it's more of a pain in the butt than the actual fee. Let's play devils advocate.
How much revenue will $5 an ad create? A few hundred bucks a month. Is that worth it? I would use advertising to pay for the hosting fees if that's the motivation.
I'm not sure what the goal of the site is? A profit center? An advertising platform for products? Just a fun and informative site for racers? If you stick to your company mission statement then you've defined your company. I.E. Branding. If you ask Southwest Airlines what their mission statement / branding platform is, they would reply "The countries low cost airlines". They make their corporate decisions based on how the decision will impact their branding. What's the mission statement of Inside Top Alcohol?
I love this site and have built my car with many parts found here. Great Site, Great People! Just worried.

    classifieds

I had no delusions the amount of ads would remain the same. I knew we would drop off. So far we have seen a gradual increase in the amount of ads, especially since we have let the want to buy ads back in.

InsideTopAlcohol.com is a business. It's one of the many things I do to pay my bills and feed my family.

I am committed to making this deal work as smoothly as possible.

One of the things I am working on is buying a 'membership' type of deal that will give you credit towards posting ads. That way you pay one time, and get a better value on ad pricing.

One of the reasons why I have a programmer custom programming all of this is I wanted to use the same platform everyone was used to rather than buying a common classifieds plug in. That would have been much easier and much cheaper. In some ways it might work better, but I really wanted to keep it working the same way that everyone was used to.

As far as those who are predicting the death of ITA, I refuse to buy into that. Social media has taken some of our discussion traffic. There is still no better place on the web to go to for tech and classifieds for blown alcohol or nitro for that matter. Social media won't replace that. As a business I don't think it's unreasonable to ask $5 to use our marketplace we provide. I understand there is always going to be back lash any time you take something that has been free and charge a fee for it. I am well versed what kind of parts get posted here and the values and 99% of what gets sold on here can support a $5 ad fee.

No Will, I do not think that at all.

For a paying customer yes Racingjunk offers more with additional fees,..
and yes I have sold everything I have ever listed on RJ free adds without paying a dime.

ITA Classifieds was/is in a class by itself, because we be more like the drag race family we are, instead of a bunch of billet wing nuts on the other sites just pushing Product, kinda like Reehl..lol :p

    Keep on keeping on
