NRE had the new head and intake on display at PRI.

Flow numbers were over 600 at .900 lift.

It has some nice features to make it a "Cadillac" head -
O-ring in valve cover rail to replace gasket
    O-ring on oil drain backs
drain back slots to drain puddled oil-head is virtually dry when you get back after a run
Sprayers built in to lube intake valve springs
Designed to accomodate up to 9/16 push rods.

Exhaust runner out flows leading competition by 30 cfm.

Has anyone had any dealings with the BAE 9 Head yet? If so what are your thoughts and or knowledge about it?

I understand that BAE released a BAE 9 head mid year last year so why isn't it on their website and how come no one is talking good or bad about it?

    MBE Head

I know a few guys have run the MBE head and have spoken highly of it. He buys a 'casting' from NRE and puts his own ports in it.

    New Heads

Since we're on Inside Top Alcohol, how many of these heads have been given approval by NHRA for competition in the alcohol classes. To pass NHRA moritorium guidelines, very little can be changed. I was told at PRI that they were getting ready to crack down on this. Don't spend your mone until you're 100% sure.

    Agreed Marty!

I have also heard the same thing regarding the BAE stuff. I actually posted it on here about a month back and nobody responded. But I heard big crack down on the head mods coming VERY SOON. I guess it will even the field a little but really sucks for the teams that have spent big money on a now illegal head!

Any of the "new heads" that are being built are being marketed to the Pro Mod classes that dont have "cylinder head spec" rules in their rule book.

There is alot of really nice stuff available in the Drag Racing market that will never see an NHRA race, and some rules that have been administered that only pertain to both alcohol classes that could save parts and money if allowed in NHRA.

IMO someone should start organizing exhibitional "Outlaw" F/C Races that will allow guys to try new heads and other frowned upon items that the powers to be in NHRA may not allow. The BAE 9 head I asked about supposedly has already been ran in Alky FC and it has a much larger intake valve than allowed unless that person modified the head which I highly doubt.
