INDY aluminum block feedback wanted

Im just looking for some feed back on the INDY alloy blocks , water and solid, Im looking to build a blown engine to make around 2500-2700, we have to run a std cam height block and the block can not be billet as per the rules, a forged block would be fine but none of the manufactureres will build a std cam height block anymore which I can understand, only other option aside from the INDY that I can see would be KB, which id be happy to run if I could get one , but I do want to purchase something new.
So if anyone has ran one or knows anything about them please let me know how you have found them and if you think it will stand up to the power level I want to make

The only exp I saw with the one Indy was not good.
They might make different levels of blocks, but, this one had the head studs screwed into the deck like a Chevy. I think that is a bad design ? IMO

 

I ran one for a while, it pulled threads out of head stud holes. Went to a KB, couldnt be happier with it.

To the best of my knowledge, KB is shipping blocks again - Ken posted pictures of blocks ready for shipment not so long ago, and people regularly write in the facebook group regarding blocks they received.

 

I would go for New Century blocks almost the same design as a KB

 

If they are not screwed into the deck then they are screwed into what? Maybe you mean the threads don't start at the deck surface, instead deeper into the block?

 

Yes, the Indy I saw had the deck threaded for the head studs.
I don't like that style, I think they should be threaded into the lower end like the "real"
blocks, Hemi, New Century etc.

 

A New Century is a BBC/Olds design - Indy is a hemi design

Take this for what it's worth, I was talking with one of the Flagle brothers (Russ, I think) at Monster Mopar back in 2003 about a blown low-deck wedge for AA/A and while he didn't just come out and say it, I got the distinct impression that they were having some problems with their blocks in blown applications. Doubt seriously that he would admit to that now, but the conversation definitley wasn't a confidence builder for me. Don't know what improvements they have made, if any, in their blocks since then.

Keith Black Street HEMI/440 blocks are dry liner blocks and sell for $5,150.00. If you need the block drilled for hydraulic lifters the block price is $5,500.00. The block is made to run in applications that need to circulate water without the worry of water getting into the oil. The water never touches the sleeve; instead it flows around the aluminum bore the sleeve fits into. Good for applications up to 2,500hp+ when ordered with 1/2" head studs. All head stud holes are "blind" holes.
Deck heights from 9.600 to 11.225. (Low deck 440 block add $100.00)

that water kb block is the block id ideally have, I spoke to Ken and they have a 16 week delivery time and when I asked if it would definately be 16 weeks he couldnt guarantee that, that was on all cast blocks, he has guys waiting since November last year, problems with the foundry, he said they are supposed to be delivering 2 block a week starting next week, I just dont want to get stuck waiting 6-12 months, my customer will not be impressed

 

Been following this question closely as I'm knee deep in something along the same lines. Noticed a picture on the KBRE facebook page showing an aluminum World block sitting next to a KB aluminum street hemi block. Absolutely no comparison.
"Got Away" with a stock cast iron 440 blown on alcohol a few years back but no way I would take that chance again and from what I've seen here, looks like I'll hold out for a KB myself.
