To anyone who is involved with classic cars, I would avoid doing any business with Mark Craig of Wickenburg, AZ and John Tolleson of Oregon city, OR.

I paid a lot of money to Mark for classic Camaro parts and he send the parts for the wrong year car and did not make anything right, also the Expensive and rare guage cluster showed up here w/ all the rare guages missing and the housing destroyed some of the other parts were not in the boxes as well.

As for John I paid him directly to his bank account and he never sent anything. Ebay was useless and although I have a lawsuit here with his name on it, it can't be sent since the police are protecting a crook...big surprise. The only man who has his valid address is his probation officer, the police even when paid to serve the notice will not even make a phone call to get the address as it would be acting as my agent...I thought it was doing there job which is to serve and protect the innocent and bring justice to criminals but I guess only crooks can hide behind red tape.

These guys screwed over a wounded combat veteran so in my book they have no honor or shame.

Just wanted to warn my fellow racers if you do business with either of these guys, you do so at a risk.

Best of wishes to you all,
    Trevor Sherwood

Try a private process server. They are usually ex police and we all know how the buddy system works.

    EBay

I have a few friends who bought cars off of E-Bay and got burned to the tune of $34,000 thousand dollars.

Before they send any money they contacted E-Bay and were assured that the deal was on the up and up and the seller had a good record with them.

They now have the FBI involved and it turns out this same person as done this same deal about 8 other times that they know of.

E-Bay would not make good for any of the money that was lost.

This was a pretty sharp scam job and there were many phone calls and it did all seem very real and the person knew a great deal about cars.

I was a at car show on day and one of the guys said hey I saw you car on E-Bay for sale and when the owner said I don't have my car for sale they went and found a laptop to check it out and sure enough there were all the pictures of his car along with a price of about $30,000 grand.

The owner looked at me in shock and asked me how this could have happened and I asked him if he ever had the car for sale and he said yes about a year ago.

My next question was did you ever send anyone any pictures of the car and the answer was yes. I then said did you ever send a copy of the title and he also said yes. Bingo now they have all they need to run a good scam on someone else.

We send the guy an email asking to see a copy of the title and sure enought there it was.

Be very careful if you use E-Bay to buy anything.

One way to help detect scams is to ask for a photo of an angle that is not posted in the add. If the seller cannot produce one.... scam.... Also beware of the "the car is in storage" or "I'm out of the country" quotes.

    look befor you leap

I bought a vega panel off racingjunk.con, the seller only wanted $1000 for it. I still drove 900 miles to look at it. If I spend more than $250 for anything I want proof of who and what. Its too cheap to pay the price of a plane ticket to go look at something your going to spend thousands of dollars on. Plus, you can drive it or ship it home at the same time. Time is money, you dont want to waste time, so dont waste money. (Plus the wife likes to travel anywhere)

    Trevor,
Thanks for the heads up. do they have a web site or buisiness name they go by, so not to get involved with them. we have classics were working on all the time and don't want to get tangled up with some assholes that we'd have to go personally pay a visit to ;)
If it's any consolation, what gauges did you need for the camaro? I have a couple a few things in the shop for a 67 rs ss 4k car.

I'm still "enjoying" a sight unseen purchase from a few years ago. I even paid someone to look at it for me. The word "rustbucket" comes to mind.
