Sounds like it ran out of fuel

They didnt have anyone in the seat while the car was running, that is a big no no at any racetrack. And, yes it did sound like there was a lack of fuel in the motor.

That is the infamous 'twin cam tommy'.

No one will be next to him in the pits (take a guess why). He's pulled in next to us, and i've packed up and moved!

He had just pulled the fuel off on that one and obviously it was leaking enough it kept right on going! How far to you think it'll travel thru the pits WHEN it falls off the parts store jack stands?????????????

Believe it or not....that car has a CURRENT top fuel tag on it. HOW?

He made a pass two weeks ago, well, he made a burnout two weeks ago, it launched the belt in the burnout.

Those are some interesting facts to say the least.

A blind man with his eyes shut must have certified the car. I'm guessing it's a late 70's / VERY early 80's chassis?

Is Tommy hoping to run that car is a nostalgia class?

No intentions of racing it. He started this venture about 35 years ago. I believe it is a 81 Shoemaker chassis

Good point! I think he needs to learn a few things before he causes any serious damage.

If you watch it close you will see a puff of smoke out the back of the manifold or around the burst panel (if it has one) just a sec. before she pops.

Eric, yes. This happens every few months (1-3 times a year) at Sacramento Raceway. WHen we see he is going to fire, he take cover, with a fire bottle. Only had to use it once.

It is widely known that this guy is dangerous. The kids that are with him have very little knowledge of drag racing, let alone top fuel (snicker) racing. I'm almost 100% they have NO respect for the yellow stuff.
