Should I be making more power?

    I am running BBC's and am limited to conventional style heads with 8-71's and a 43% overdrive limit.
    I beleive I'm making around 1600-1700 HP, could I be making more?

    Give more info, size heads, how much boost running now? compression ? rods? stroke? size injector? what barrell valve? give me a pm

    I'll say it a different way...

    If you were limited to 8-71's at 43% over and chevys with conventional style cylinder heads, how much HP do you think you would get out of it?

    sounds about right. A friend of mine ran a similar set up and made about the same. What kind of 8-71?

    Its a high-helix SSI F-2 and SSI modified it 3 seasons ago.

    Im no pro but 1600 hp with a good 8-71 @43% over seems a little low.

    I run a old style 8-71 at 28% and make 1500hp with a very fat tune.

    Now mind you I am figuring my hp off of weight and mph and et, I dont know for sure I have never had it on a dyno.
