Bought a new Reacter aluminum Flexplate and they told me to torque the bolts to 75 LBS. This is the 8 bolt pattern with 1/2" bolts. Does this sound right? The ARP bolts say to torque 95-110.

Wondering if it's the aluminum flexplate can't take the pressure? Always torqued a steel flexplate to ARP's specs just like a regular flywheel. Anyone else running this Reacter Flexplate?

I'm concerned with the bolts backing out and yes I red Loctite them in. Just doesn't seem like the torque is high enough to keep them in place?

    IT AINT!!!!!!

THROW THE BOLTS AWAY FROM REACTOR,THEY ARE JUNK

order the top fuel arp bolts with the AN washers, red loctite to 120# and forget about it.

i went thru this twice with the bolts backing out destroying the flywheel and reactor had nothing good to say.

If you use the ARP bolts with hardened washers, there is a chamfer on one side of the ID of the washers. This chamfer goes towards the bolt head as there is a small radius under the bolt head.

That is what I was looking for. Just don't have experience with 1/2" bolts but have screwed up plenty of 7/16" bolt stuff. Have you used 120LBS with the Reacter Flexplate? Thanks.

yes, thats what i do now. first 2 reactor flywheels i followed his instructions and destroyed a lot of stuff.

last 300 runs or so have used ARP loctited at 120# and zero problems. they are still tight after 50 or so runs when i tear down just to look at.then i just clean up and relocktite and torque to 120.

as the guy said earlier pay attention to the AN washer when u install, i forgot to say that earlier and assume most people know the bevel goes to the bolt head and the flat to surface of fly wheel.

wish i would have done this on flywheel #1 could of saved thousand of dollars, and a few lost rounds.

reactor should know this after all the lost flexplates complaints, guess its easier to keep selling after they are torn up. other wise he builds a awsome flexplate, just gotta tell people to torque down with better quality bolts.

    hope it helps Howard

I always torque mine to 120# with blue loctite. I have never had one come lose.
