Anyone have any suggestions? Car always started fine with single six shooter/Lehey system. Added second six shooter & Harness-then will not start unless module plug from Six shooter to retard box disconnected. After checking & re checking everything connected/related, cannot identify problem. Removed all new components & installed all original parts for single six shooter. Same problem with original stuff. Checked everything related to system, borrowed new retard box, six shooter etc, no resolution.

    UPDATE:

Traced issue to idle chip in six shooter. If a chip is plugged in, car will not start. ANY chip, even zero.

    Why???

The question I would have is with a chip plugged in and it not wanting to start then do you have spark out of the coil wire that goes to the cap. If you have spark out of the coil wire then do you have it out any of the plug wires. If you have spark out of the coil wire and not out of the plug wire then the timing is being changed enough for some reason that the rotor phasing is off and the spark cannot jump the gap. If the motor is running have you tried putting a zero degree chip into the idle and see if the timing changes?

sounds like the duestch connector is wired wrong. or you have the GRAY & black hooked up , as you leave those open so the stages will activate from the launch chip as each stage is triggerd by a different color wire except the first one or " launch chip " they must be open . if you install the chip that would connect them If you have them hooked to a tigger device like air switch/ timer/etc. when using six shooter, with the #8168 box you do not use the gray / black wires. They are only used with the 8168 box by its self . using only 1chip. & a trigger device.
You would use the yellow wire comming from the #8168 box using the supplied msd sheilded harness or a leahy harness also connecting the red/black/ to crank trigger or mag base & clear to violet @ the mag .

    Thanks for your suggestions all.
With excellent advice from Dave Lehey, we found the problem.
No 12v to the six shooters. We have done something to damage this part of the EM box. We backfed 12v through the red wire on the black/red connector from the box & everything works fine. Timer is going to Dave Lehey after this weekend's PMRA race.

BTW Mike, I plugged in a zero chip after the car was running & it sounded like it retarded the timing....alot. I didn't leave it in long as it sounded very wrong while in.
