YNOT Returns to D7

Sonoma, California - After many months of being on the road and having their share of success, Team YNOT is happy to return to the friendly confines of Division Seven and the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California, who is hosting the CAL-STEAM/KOHLER NHRA Division 7 Drag Races, presented by Korbel.

With last weekend’s happenings, (just barely missing the call for the semis due to extensive engine damage in the second round) everybody at Team YNOT knows that there was an opportunity lost, but, this has only gone to make the team stronger. With the all of stiff competition staying over from the Fram Autolite NHRA Nationals, the team is more determined than ever, to make up for the lost opportunity from last weekend. Even with all that Whiteley sits in the number five position in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series national points chase. In Division Seven Lucas Oil Points, Whiteley is tied for second, with Chris Demke and is 107 points behind leader Duane Shields. Whiteley is in a more advantageous position having two more races to claim over Shields.

Qualifying will begin this afternoon at 3:00 pm PDT, and there will be two more sessions tomorrow (Saturday) at noon and 4:00pm PDT. Final round eliminations will start Sunday at 8:00 am PDT with the Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars starting their eliminations at 12:00 Noon.

This weekend is also the long awaited debut of the Altered Twins Top Dragster/ Altereds of Jim Whiteley’s wife Annie Whiteley and her identical twin sister Anita Pullium. The cars were built by Blackstone Racecars in Boise, Idaho, and painted by Air Designs Customs also in Boise with paint and materials supplied by Valspar/House of Kolor. Both cars are candidates for both, “Best Engineered” and “Best Appearing Car” awards. The Top Dragsters will have two qualifying sessions on Friday at noon and 4:00 pm PDT, and one on Saturday at 10:30 am PDT, with their first round of eliminations at starting at 5:00pm PDT.
