Great Start at Maple Grove for Team YNOT.

Reading, Pennsylvania - Once again Jim Whiteley, Norm Grimes and the Gang from Grand Junction have made their presence felt at a NHRA/ Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series National Event. After Friday’s qualifying sessions Whiteley was number three with runs of 5.41 and 5.39, once again showing the consistency of the Norm Grimes tune up.

On Saturday morning’s final qualifying session the track seemed to be very good and as was the tendency of this session, Whiteley shook the tires and was relegated to the number six position in the final standings.

In the first round he would meet up with his opponent in the final round of the Pro Care RX NHRA Nationals in Englishtown, master photographer and all round good guy Dave DeAngelis. Once again DeAngelis showed his starting line prowess and got a slight jump on Whiteley, but after that it was Whiteley in Great White as he streaked to low ET of the 1st round with a super 5.32 at 268.76 and more importantly a first round win.

In the second round Team YNOT met up with Karen Stalba, who qualified 14th and got an upset round one win over Darvin Martinets. Whiteley’s first round win and the first round loss of Thomas Bayer will again put Whiteley as number two in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series National Points Chase.

Team YNOT would like to thank Permatex, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Valspar/House of Kolor, J&A Service, Raptor Industries, Advanced Oil Field Services and Impact Race Products for their continued support.
