    Guys and gals,

I am looking for to buy a junk (or borrow) spare Brad 5, 6, &, 8 or NRE head and stands/rockers to mock up on my TFX 1.8 lifter spaced block. I am a trustworthy guy and will only need the head for a couple of days. I currently run Veney fuel heads and will be making the change to more modern heads in the next year or two, needing to know if the block, (a 2005 TFX fuel block) needs to stay or go.

    Thanks in advance,
    Scott Farley

I have heard everything from 1.8 to 1.9 or 2.0. If I could get spare heads exactly like I have I would probably stay with this program.

    Stock 426 Lifter Bore Spacing is .904 x 1.800"

Nitro Lifter Bore Spacing is 1" or 1.062" x 1.900" (Moved away from center .050" each way)

Alcohol Lifter Bore Spacing is .904" x 2.000" (Moved away from center .100" each way)

Any billet TFX (2000, 2002, 2013) block will either have 1.900" or 2.000" Spacing. The last TFX to have 1.800 is TFX96, which was cast.

You can use bronze bushings to change the spacing. I took nitro blocks with 1.000" x 1.900" and changed them to .904" x 2.000" to run them in my TAD. We can do it at my work.

You probably will not fit a Brad 5 or up on a 1.800" spacing but maybe on a 1.900" spacing it would clear.

    Hope this helps.

    Blocks

I was told by the guy who sold me my fathead that he ran them on a 1.8" if I remember right he did a little clearancing but the 2.0" spread is definitely recommended. Noel Manton or Mike Janis would be a good person to ask.

Also the Brad 4 heads if you find one our the same as the 5's just with a larger exhaust port. Those should also work for a mockup.

    Best wishes,
    Trevor Sherwood

    Thanks

Thanks Trevor, and everyone for your replies. Currently sorting out options and waiting, waiting, waiting on machine shop that promised a finish date if a couple of weeks ago.
