Would a setback blower be practical on a Alky motor?

on a psi it would have to be set forward b/c the air outlet on the psi is in the back. it would require some pretty serious engineering work.

Thru the grapevine, I have heard that the new IHRA rule on setback limitations was due to a new VENEY manifold for pro mod which set the blower back and raised it- thus causing concerns for pro mod roll cage/windshield and also the same problem for f/c. IHRA has no alki dragsters, so maybe we will see one on a TAD in NHRA. Apparently it ends puddling- resulting in wet cylinders at stage. Not big on RUMORS, but thought I would share this one. [IMG]

That is incorrect information , But that in consideration of the sender and his past revelations makes it no surprise. The motor attacked by the rule was a 481x and it happened in San Antonio Texas . There are probably Hemi Combinations that were questionable , but there was one 481x with a custom made manifold that was targeted needlessly, thus the new 8.750" snout maximum in pro mod and 10.00" in F/C .
