Hanna and Team Owner/Crew Chief Harry Clack hope the path that lead the team to the strong speed mark will continue to lead them in the right direction.

Hanna, 26, of Richwood, Texas, feels moderation combined with the team's recent speed mark may help the team turn the proverbial corner.

"We just have to focus on continuing to get down the track and improving in small steps," said Hanna. "We're still in a developmental phase, so we're still in more of a test mode rather than a race mode. Looking back on Houston, we learned some really good things in getting the car up to speed, literally. The lesson learned from the event is the steps we were taking with the tune-up were a lot bigger than we gave them credit. Our goal this weekend is to get from point A to B every time and just build from there."

"It's real easy to sit here and talk about small steps and consistency, but the real trick is doing it in the heat of battle," added Hanna. "Harry and I are both aggressive by nature, and have very high standards we shoot for. The car is showing us a ton of potential, which makes it harder to take that small step. It's like having a guy open in the end zone and having a guy open that's a sure fire first down. We just have to start shooting for the first down guy and work our way down the field."

In preparation for this weekend's event, the team has upgraded it's equipment in an effort to reach the top of the pack.

"We're committed to building a championship-caliber team," stated Clack. "To help us reach that level, we've put together a brand new Brad Anderson motor and installed a new RacePak data recorder that will allow us to collect more information. We hope the new pieces are another step towards becoming a top-level team."

Qualifying begins on Friday for the alcohol cars, with two more sessions on Saturday. Eliminations begin with round one on Saturday evening and conclude on Sunday.
