We ran Jesel for about 6 yrs. and just this season switched to Morel. The reason behind our switch was cost, Jesel is $2800/set and Morel $900/set/ Several other TAD/TAFC teams are using Morels with great results. Ken @ Motorsport Unlimited (sponsor of the site) is the guy to get them from, you can also have them rebuilt.

A lot of the top teams are using Cam Effects with great success.

Some of the alcohol teams get up to 150 runs before rebuild.

Call me if you need more info, or wish to purchase them.

Several teams had big issues with the Cam FX lifters and the word on the street is the customer service was pretty sad.

The last I heard, Team Force took out all of the "other guys" lifters, and bought Cam Effects lifters.

I'm sure Chris from Cam Effects will chime in here soon.

    bullsh*t

I haven't heard of anyone having success with them and if anyone got 150 runs on them in a TA car they would be talking and we would all know. The guy who runs the place is flaky and hard to get ahold of, and told me twice he would replace my two run lifters that failed because they weren't machined properly. Morels have been very good, I've had no failures on new ones. I run them fifty runs and replace. Have not had any rebuilt as of yet. Ken at Motorsports Unlimited can hook you up.

Agreed on all fronts, sort of.... Jesel is the best lifter there is....hands down, they are expensive as hell though. We ran the same "dog bone" lifters in our outlaw car and TAD for 6 years, never hurt a single one. We had a few here and there that didn't roll as smoothly, sent them off to Jesel and had them rebuilt. With the Morel lifter becoming available we're roughly 25% the investment and can rebuild them for $400. I can put new lifters in each season and be money ahead for several several years...and when the Jesels wear out and I have to buy a new set...I'm WAY ahead $$$ wise. Thus the reason for my switch, the aforementioned. The CamFX I don't have any personal experience with. I was told to stay away from them by a TAFC racer who had a brand new set break and destroy his brand new engine the first pass at Houston last year....he walked over to Thackers (whom I was there helping) and got a new set of Morel's....to the best of my knowledge his lifter problem is no more. His story echoed Clint's and Clint's story mirrors several competitors and even distributors, manufacturers, and the like.... I don't think Clint is attacking anyone, he's saying it might be in your best interest to ask the racer what has worked and not the guy selling parts....none of us go to the dealer and ask them "what car should I buy"....we call those people idiots.

    no attack, just facts

Man I get tired of trying to be politically correct. It is what it is, so I just think it's better to call it as I see it. If Robert Rheel can tell me the names of the top alky racers who've put 150 runs on CamFX lifters, I'll post an apology for calling bullsh*t on his post. Why is it okay to make a bs claim like that but it's "attacking" when someone speaks up. If you ask me politcally correct is for pussies.

Sorry, I get a little on the tire when people are just plain wrong. Brandon is right, my post is not intended as an "attack" just the facts. I put the Cam FX lifters in my car just before the Norwalk Divisional last year, after just two runs, one broke, destroyed my new camshaft and the subsequent dings and dents in the block and on the rods and pistons. The lifter body was not clearanced on the sides next to the roller and was actually hitting or riding on the cam which caused the failure. Chris has claimed that his lifters were "bulletproof" and guaranteed. He even went so far when he was trying to get people to run them as to say that if they broke he would stand behind the damage they caused ( I knew that was never gonna happen) I know several other Top Alcohol funny car and dragster racers whom have similar stories to mine. I guess I'm just enough of an a-hole to tell my story and call others on thier BS when I see it. Some call it outspoken, some call it attacking, I call it telling it like it is. Chris has had several opportunities to at least do what he said and give me a new set of lifters. He has not. he has called my friend and engine builder a liar, he has called me and whined when I posted the truth on this site, to which I put up a reply at his and Robert Rheels suggestion letting you all know that again he intended to make it right, which he HAS NOT. (AS IF I would run the lifters again anyway, I would probably just try to sell them to someone.) In fact, Chris, if you still care, just send me the money and give the lifters to Ray Drew.

So I guess I should be ashamed of calling it like it is, but that is just me so say what you want, but beware of Chris, Robert, and CAM FX lifters. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Replace Crane lifters with Cam FX Lifters

I have several customers running Cam FX lifters in both supercharged and turbo promods; I know one of them has over a 100 runs on their lifters with no problems and the other has over 75 runs. :)

Just joined today and Robert Rheel is the only person to view your profile?
    Who are you?
Who are these people with all these runs?

    Lifters

It seems to me that many people on this site consider price a a baseline. Not a good thing when lower is better.
I have a question for this forum: How often have you heard a complaint about a Jesel Lifter. Look at the cost of an exhaust lifter failure, and tell me that the low bidder gets the job.

Common scene must apply if we expect to afford this sport.

Dan and Wayne Jesel have the least expensive lifter you can buy, in the long run---PERIOD
