Man, has Div. 7 fallen on hard times! 15 FC's at Sonoma? I guess the days of 20-24 cars in Div. 7 are over!

Tom Bristow and Tom Lemon were not allowed to run because they didn't have enough grade points. DT told me about someone else who wanted to run but couldn't and I can't remember who it was.

maxkakl- Im only guessing, but maybe the cars owner has ran enough events to qualify for the needed grade points.

Does anyone know if this might be true?

Randy, how are Grade points determined? Number of rounds in Div. Races? I can understand cutting the cars off when it's over 25, but 15?

Cutting off at 15 cars??? My question also. "Thanks for spending a few thousand putting a team together...by the way, you're not welcome to run here."

    Great incentive.

    King,
Here is a list of driver who could have been there. I don’t know why they were not here, but they have been to other Div 7 races this year.

Bob Gallio only brought 1 car
    Tom Bristow ???
    Jeff Carroll ???
    Robert Lee ???

Mike Andreotti was only at Pomona National this year

There are a couple of AZ cars that only seem to race in AZ

There were only 4 out of Div cars there 2 of which are still based in So. Cal, normally we used to get a bunch of Div 6 cars

Maybe some of them don’t like the pits, you are either out on the south 40 or in the dirt.

Also some of the guys from back East used to run the western swing, but with no Denver I guess its not worth it anymore.

Maxkakl, the grade points also go with the owner as per NHRA “Owner credits may be awarded in cases involving a driver change from one season to the next (contestant must receive approval from their Division Director).”

We entered Gregg's car at Sonoma based on his divisional points. Division 6 director Mike Rice was contacted so all NHRA requirements were met. Garrett has worked for John Smith on Randy Parks T/F car (clutch guy) and then on Rhonda's car for a couple of years. He got his TAD license in 2001 in the same car he drove this weekend. He may not have alot of laps, but I think he proved himself very well this weekend.
