I have a 10.2 deck BBC 4.500 bore. I will be running a 1471 blower for now, I will get a better blower when I can. What stroke would you guys go with. This is an old PM motor and had a 4.375 in it. Would I be better to put back the same 557CI, or shorten the stroke for less CI's?????? Thanks

Ive had pretty good luck with a 4.25 in a chevy. However Ive always wanted to try a 4.75 (600+cid) with a good 14/71. Either way cant go wrong. Just use good rods, Hemi pins and good Pistons. Good Luck.

4.25 is the strongest and fastest for a chevy.

    stroke

Just remember, The longer the stroke the farther away from the centerline. Also you DO NOT need all that torque. It will just give you more problems. Don

I would say 4.250/ or 4.125 But they seem to like the 4.25 stroke. Don

If this is a non cross bolted style block, I would use a 4" stroke with a long rod. You can good ring setup with a 1.395 comp distance and a 1.094 pin. Use a 6.790 rod with plenty of material over the pin and around the bearing without having having to have a cam notch. You can make any combo run fast but the trick is to have one that last long enough to get it there.
