    golf cart

I would look for a gas 2 cylinder 4 cycle cart. Should be some used ones around.(google in your area) Older 1 cylinder 2 cycle carts don't have enough torque to push the car all that well.

    Yes on the 4 stroke.

btw you may want to pull it rather than push it:eek:

You can also get a non-running gasser and swap in a Honda, or Briggs & Stratton 16 - 25 hp v-twin engine

Here's a couple of web sites for all the info you could ever want on golf carts.

Or if your really ambitious you can swap in a motorcycle engine.
Here's one from Australia with a 1200cc Yamaha engine in it, in a burnout contest (plenty of power)!

If you start it with a blower mounted starter, an electric cart works great, and you dont have to cart around a batter pack

We pull our car around with a Kawi, Mule. It has a bed for tools and stuff and 4wd if we need it, its a little overkill but we use it for other stuff too and we got a good deal on it.

We tried the golf cart thing, it just wasnt enough for a heavy car.

And after that, if speed and torque aren't enough, buy an used golf cart and fit a Suzuki Swift or a Geo Metro 3 cylinders(with an automatic trans) in the engine bay. It's pretty easy to do and it work great. And... I forgot:confused:, turbo 3 cylinders we're available also...
    Enjoy,

I have to say everyone gave good info but you need to think of one thing no one has talked about yet ,,,, where are you racing?? at most big tracks like national event tracks its all flat and paved some small tracks you may go to may not be so flat I have been to a few that we waited as the guys in front of us had 2 guys pushing the race car as the cart was pulling to get it up the return road, I think it was a older 2 cycle..
So think where you will be if its all flat no big deal
