I have a 526 BBC 14-71 hi helix. dart pro1 345 heads. I have been running an enderle 990 fuel pump. I have the possibility to buy a waterman 18 gallon pump. what are your thoughts? suggestions? recommendations?

Waterman pump is better than a Enderle. But I think it might be to big for your motor. How many lbs of boost are you making at 8000 rpm? Do you have a fuel flow meter?

Keep the Enderle. They are rock solid. Waterman is justified on screw applications but a roots is not that hard to feed in an application like yours.

Outside of having the right flow for your application, a gear pump is much more reliable than a vane pump. That is not to say a gear pump won't go away, but generally speaking, you're probably looking at 4x more of a life span before it does start to wear the end plates. The vane pump isn't an if it will start going away, it's when.
