Which head did you decide to go with?

    Just curious.
There are so many types of Big block heads you don't seem to see the same head twice.

We had no issue with running the block dry, where we did run into some problems was the heads dry. We were getting small cracks and actually dropped an exhaust seat because of it, snapped off the head of the valve when it closed and all hell broke loose.
Putting solid heads back on it now.

    TD 4028,
Interesting. Question comes to mind is how lean did you run the motor before dropping the exhaust valve? I don't have solid heads and I'm not running water in my BBC Dart Big-M block.
    Thanks, Joe

As well, I ran stainless exhaust valves for a season. The valves were so brittle they shattered like glass. Switched to superalloy.
