I'm running a RCD crank starter connected to 48v. I put a "tap" between the first battery (negative) to get 12v for my components. My question is: Will everything in the grounding path of my starter be 48v (chassis, etc)? I'm figuring on creating an "isolated ground" to my tap so the electronics are kept at 12v. Is this how it's done? Thank you

it sounds like it will work but not sure what will happen when they are charging you may need to put a switch on the 12 volt power to the electronics and yes the starter will get the full 48 volts minus the small draw from the electronics the gnd side will never know that you are tapping in to them tim stokes was running 36 volts the last time I saw the top off of the left sponson you should call him just look up widow maker he may have been running another battery I did not see good luck and where do you normally race
