    28 years ago....whew!

    Thanks Kenny.
I used to love the dry hop deal, being the clutch grunt and knowing those discs were female, it gave you a chance to change launch RPM. :D

    P.S. who won ?

It was just qualifying, not sure. We won the whole deal on Sunday though.

    Parachute action

Growing up I always thought it was super cool how the chutes came out and spun around like that on everyone's car- dragsters, funnycars, nitro cars, etc. Got me wondering why they don't act the same now. Maybe because there's two chutes, or the design of the lines and/or canopy?

Randy; after watching that clip, it kind of gives you an idea of what racing on the Moon must be like :D Look at the silt next to the track.

Correction: almost 27 yrs., Slick and I had just put Gary's 426 in the car, so it was 1985.

    Bob:

I ran my altered there starting in 1977 with the (always present) right to left 45 mile per hour breeze. Lotsa fun having the steering wheel cranked hard right as you fought the wind toward the finish line hoping the chutes didn't launch you into the guardrail. In 1990 I did my first two license runs there in TA/FC. For some strange reason Bernie Longjohn thought running the motocross track, which was located on the right side of the track, was a good idea while cars were running on the strip. The dust and dirt flying through the air from the MXer's and landing on the track sticking to the VHT was impressive (with a capital "D")
