    March meet / valley fever

Dale Pulde is just recovering from from valley fever, he most likely caught at the hot rod reunion in Bakersfield in Oct. If you are going to the March Meet you need to read Brian Lossnes's article on valley fever. Go to www.dragracingonline.com and click on valley fever or go to (getting nostalgic) column.

Dont get people scared of going to the March Meet,..first off the spore is dormant threw the winter untill about may or June,.
Secondly the spores were heavier this last October at the Cali Hot Rod Reunion because they were still turning the piles of manure that are around the track right up until Saturday.
and also there is a greater chance it will infect those who are sick, or who have just gotten over being sick (while your immune system is still weak) and also young children that also dont have a strong immune system.

I have the utmost respect for Dale and only the best well wishes for his recovery, and praise the effort of Dales wife Valerie and what she has been going threw to make ends meet.

Several people actually left the Reunion and within two weeks after were getting sick from the Fever,

Valley Fever has been around for Decades, and most the time mis diognosed as the flu or nemonia....

I Just dont think the signal you are sending people about the MARCH MEET, was well thought out.

    Rich,

Thanks for the link. I like being informed, especially when Valley Fever has been misdiagnosed so many times, and it is not prevalent where you might live. Knowledge is power, especially when your health is concerned.

Do you know who Rance Mcdaniels is...?????...from Fresno..
His fuel Dragsters were called "Vally Fever" 1975,..for the obvious reasons...

I have been to Famoso 7 times in the last 5 years,...and I am still going..!!!!!

This FEVER is no different to contract than MRSA,pronounced (mer-sa) Most people have
it dont even know it, you carry it around in your nasal passage,..it is also short of having staff infection if contracted at its worse point threw a cut or scrape, even from off a counter top, or anothers persons skin or clothes,...google MRSA to exactly the danger behind that..!!!!!

So if you want to start trying to freak people out and discourage them with warnings to stay away from Famoso Dragstrip, well then you are not one of self awarness to the hazards and dangers we live in EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Self awarness is good,...Knowledge is better,....so knowledge yourself and have a great time at the March Meet, next month.
